Liability for Keeping Wild Animals Prohibited for Keeping Established
A law signed by the President (O‘RQ-1019 from January 16, 2025) introduces amendments and additions to the Administrative Responsibility Code.
According to the amendments, individuals who keep wild animals prohibited for keeping in semi-wild conditions, artificially created environments, or captivity will face a fine ranging from 5 to 10 times the base calculated amount (from 1.875 million soums to 3.75 million soums) with confiscation of the animals.
If such a violation leads to harm to human health or property of individuals or legal entities, and if there are no signs of a crime, a fine of 30 to 50 times the base calculated amount (from 11.25 million soums to 18.75 million soums) will be imposed for keeping such animals.
Previously, no such regulation existed.
Additionally, violations of the rules for keeping animals in cities and other populated areas, as well as the failure of officials to detain and keep stray animals, will result in a fine for individuals ranging from 3 to 5 times the base calculated amount (from 1.125 million soums to 1.875 million soums) and for officials from 5 to 10 times the base calculated amount (from 1.875 million soums to 3.75 million soums).
If such a violation leads to harm to human health or property of individuals or legal entities, and if there are no signs of a crime, the fine for individuals will range from 10 to 15 times the base calculated amount (from 3.75 million soums to 5.625 million soums), and for officials from 15 to 30 times the base calculated amount (from 5.625 million soums to 11.25 million soums).
The law enters into force from the moment of its official publication.
