List of Hazardous Goods Whose Import Is Prohibited Approved
A Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Measures to Further Improve the Control over the Circulation of Waste, Certain Types of Hazardous Goods, and Chemicals within the Territory of Uzbekistan" (No. 916 from December 30, 2024) has been adopted.
In accordance with the Decree, the following lists have been approved:

·        A list of hazardous goods and waste, the import of which into the territory of Uzbekistan is prohibited;

·        A list of pesticides and other persistent organic pollutants, the import of which into Uzbekistan is prohibited;

·        A list of hazardous goods and waste, the circulation of which is subject to state regulation and mandatory environmental certification.
Importers bringing waste into Uzbekistan for processing and disposal must have the following documents:

·        Importers who can independently process, recycle, or reuse waste must have a positive conclusion from the state environmental expertise regarding the environmental impact declaration for the waste disposal, processing, or reuse process;

·        Importers who cannot independently process, recycle, or reuse waste must conclude an agreement with a legal entity engaged in waste disposal and processing.
The Decree enters into force 3 months after its official publication.
